2019 Silver American Eagles Bring Beauty to Bullion
The US Mint has released the new 2019 Silver American Eagle Bullion coins for sale through its network of official distributors.

When the US Mint began selling bullion coins in 1986, any old design wouldn’t do. They chose August Saint-Gaulden’s classic Double Eagle design for the gold pieces and Adolph A. Weinman’s “Walking Liberty” portrayal for the silver. Weisman’s design first appeared on the 1916 half dollar and is considered one of the most beautiful American coins ever minted. The coin's obverse (face) shows Lady Liberty draped in an American flag walking with her arm outstretched while the sun rises over a ridge in the background. The reverse has a heraldic eagle designed by sculptor John Mercanti with 13 small stars above its head, representing the original colonies.

A huge success among both investors and collectors, over 500 million ounces of the coins have been sold since its inception, making the world’s leading choice of investment grade silver bullion coins.

Invest with Comfort

The popularity of Silver American Eagles is in their quality. Investors know that each coin is one full troy ounce of .999 fine silver, a weight and purity backed by the US Government’s guarantee. Long-term investors also appreciate the fact that Silver American Eagles are approved to be held in Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs).

Collect with Confidence, Too

Silver American Eagle bullion coins are popular with collectors as well. They are released in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) grade meaning they retain their original mint luster and crisp details, earning them the highest ratings on the Sheldon Coin Grading Scale, a 70-point scale used by professional coin dealers and collectors to determine the value of a coin.

While investors buy bullion coins for the value of their metal, other collectors are as interested in the coins’ beauty and personal significance. Some collect full date sets for each year of minting since 1986. Others collect coins with specific dates to commemorate births, marriages and other important life events. Those coins may be kept as mementos or given as gifts on special occasions.

Silver Eagle bullion coins are sold to the public through authorized dealers who add a small premium to cover the cost of the silver, distribution, and marketing. The Great American Coin Company offers investment-grade American Silver Eagle coins as well as other silver coins and silver bullion in sizes to suit any gift-giving budget.
